Here are some sunny yellow-orange Black-Eyed Susans from last autumn to brighten up your winter day! I was just thrilled when I was asked to have a gallery wrap made. Ever since I’d seen that White House Custom Colour made them, I’d wanted to have one of my images put on a canvas. Let me tell you, WHCC does not disappoint! They did an excellent job – as always! Wintertime sparkle and shine! In the Heart Sutra mandala, all things are interconnected, all things point to center. It’s about light and awakening. All my mandalas, whether they are drawings or from photographs of flowers, are created intuitively. Laurie LeBlanc Rickaby Laurie LeBlanc Rickaby is a former ballet dancer, ballet teacher, and choreographer, who’s always loved making things. She creates beautiful photo art and handcrafted blank note cards. Her creations are available through her online shop, Made By SwirlyGirl, at Etsy. It’s been my pleasure to get to know Laurie. She’s a part of [...] This mandala speaks of the light that is neither within nor without. The figure is poised between heaven and earth, connected to both, fully empowered. For me this one captures the feeling of being aligned, in the flow, in the sweet spot being both grounded and soaring. This is the place to create from, to [...] It’s time to bring a new mandala out of the closet! I liked Soar Beyond when it was made, and I knew what it meant to me…I thought. The first mandala is titled, As Above So Below. The main theme of this image is that everything is connected. Each and every tree is drawn from a tree that I actually saw in person. A beautiful black bird and an antique phone are featured in my newest print, It’s For You, as a whimsical and slightly surreal reminder to give attention to the messages all around us. Mother Nature has a lot to teach us. An important part of the Children’s Day celebration is the flying of the Koinobori, which are beautiful Koi-shaped steamers. The Koinobori symbolize courage and strength and they’re flown to honor children and to wish them health and success. |
